Slow Days

One of the best parts about the Holidays is slowing down.  Luckily, Tyler and I both have the week off between Christmas and New Years.  This is without a doubt one of my favourite things about the Holidays.

The few days during the week between the holidays where there isn't much planned is so wonderful.  We sleep in, wake up slow, drink coffee until we are hungry and then graze on leftovers.

The house often falls silent between 1:00pm and 3:00pm as this is nap time.  The occasional afternoon or after dinner walk will occur to work off the indulgences of the day and then we will end our nights with a few holiday spirits with our neighbours and friends.

I love to be in my home with Tyler.  We don't need to be doing the same task together or even in the same room but its just nice to be together.  Our lives are so jam packed with so much other stuff but this week is about us, our families and our friends.  I know this is not how we can live our lives everyday but this is how we like to spend our vacation time - reconnecting and focusing on what is really important.
